Post Completion Inspections

After completion your house builder will ask you to compile a snagging list, this will have a requirement to complete in a number of days. This could be between 7 days and 60 days.

Once they have this list they will agree which items are their duty to correct this and then arrange convenient times with you. Some house builders make the process very simple and are helpful and some are the opposite.

By having one of our inspectors complete this for you it means as far as reasonably practicable we have found all items requiring attention, we can detail this in an easy to read format with evidential photos and present in a professional manner.

You may easily miss items if you try and complete your own list for a variety of reasons lack of experience, lack of knowledge or just plain lack of time after a stressful move.

A post completion inspection includes all of the following areas (as long as we can access them of course).

  • Immediate public areas outside your plot

  • The external structure of the building

  • External drainage, pipework and paintwork

  • Fences, gates, driveways and pathways

  • Landscaping front, side & rear

  • Any garages

  • Exterior paintwork & wall coverings

  • Windows, doors, frames  and their subsequent attachments and furniture

  • Any window dressings included within your purchase price

  • Flooring, skirting & architraves

  • Kitchen fittings, appliances, cupboards, worktops, doors and accessories

  • Tiling, grouting and sealants

  • Visible pipes, radiators & vents

  • Staircases, handrails and banister

  • Loft areas - if accessible

  • Any other areas within your plot

Our inspection brochure will then be emailed to you within 3 working days for you to forward onto your House Builder.
